ANZ: Still #1 for customers in Asia

ANZ has once again been recognised as a Best Bank in the region, after being named number one for overall relationship quality for the eighth consecutive year.

As part of the Voice of Client - 2024 Asian Corporate Banking Study, Crisil Coalition Greenwich named ANZ as Best Bank - Corporate Banking in Asia.

The bank has taken out the award – previously known as ‘Greenwich Quality Leader in Asian Large Corporate Banking’ – every year since 2017.

Crisil Coalition Greenwich also named ANZ the Best Bank in China for the eighth-straight year, Singapore for the third-straight time, and – in a first for ANZ – the Best Bank in Indonesia.

ANZ Managing Director, International, Simon Ireland said the result showed the advantage of ANZ’s extensive network across Asia.

“These results underscore our exceptional support, adaptability, and consistent focus on our target customers amid uncertain market conditions and geopolitical shifts,” he said.  

“We’ll continue to invest in our people and platforms to strengthen our capabilities is this highly competitive market.”

ANZ also gained recognition for ease of doing business, coverage for corporates, and forex trading for corporates in Asia.

The Crisil Coalition Greenwich awards are based on an independent study which speaks to more than 1,000 Asia-based companies and foreign subsidiaries with an annual turnover of greater than $US500 million.

The study asks executives from across Asia – excluding Australia, New Zealand and Japan – to rate their relationship quality with select organisations under a range of criteria.

The recognition comes after ANZ was named number one bank for relationship strength in Australia, in June. It was the fifteenth time since 2005 the bank has taken out the award.

In the same month, ANZ was named the best bank for payments in the world, as part of Global Finance Magazine’s 24th annual Best Treasury & Cash Management Banks awards.
